Licensure Areas Offered:
Program Highlights: Western was founded as a teacher education institution and has a rich tradition of preparing teachers. We’re small enough to know you as a person and not as a number. Yet, we’re large enough to ensure that you’ll receive a quality education that will serve you well. Western is one of the original NC TEACH sites established in 2000 and we were the pilot site for NC TEACH Online.
Support continues after you’re hired. In addition to the mentor assigned by your school system, Western provides virtual support to our NC TEACHers through the Center for the Support of Beginning Teachers (CSBT). The CSBT Online portal is a web-based site where students may view job postings, interact with faculty, network with other NC TEACHers, and access resources needed for the program and first year of teaching.
