Program Highlights:
NC State’s NC TEACHing Communities provide a unique teacher education program whose primary goals are to help lateral entry teachers become highly effective teachers and to integrate these new teachers into their communities. By embedding new teachers into their community, we improve teacher retention by creating an atmosphere of support and cooperation. Each of our four host sites (Wake County, Rocky Mount, Sanford, and Fayetteville) are chiefly implemented by local public school teachers in cooperation with University faculty. This provides the new teacher with a first-hand account of the expectations and inner workings of their own personal teaching community.
Estimated Program Cost:
The cost of the program is approximately $2,500. If your county of hire is a partner of the NC Model Teacher Education Consortium, the cost of the program is reduced to just $500.
Delivery Model(s):
80% Face to Face, 20% Online
